Yoozer
If you could find the first version, why couldn't you find the second version in the same place

dontae
OK. You're link took me right to it and it still can't be found on the normal website when I browsed.Even went under support and news.. Weird! Anyway I down loaded it and installed it but cant seem to pull it up inside sample tank 2XL.Sonic synth 1 is there but no blue screen or SS2??The SS2 instruments folder is empty and I dont see an engine screen?also How do you register the free version so it works? Help, anyone?
progfusion74
The registration instructions are included in the documentation that comes with it. Essentially you need to copy the system information that you get during installation and go to the link that either the installer or the docs mention and enter that information there. That generates a number which you need to enter (it gets emailed to you) http://www.indiegrooves.com/dnm/images/dnm_small.gif My Blog
rossy53
Hmmmmmmm Downloaded it, ran the installation program, but cannot find the startup anywhere.Forgive my ignorance, but is this a stand-alone program or something that runs inside another program? Reverend Rhythm
It's a VSTi program. I don't know if the sounds will load in ST2. You have to download both the program (SS2) and the sounds. And then drag the sounds into the programs folder. It's in the instructions. David

ST2 will read SS2 sounds, but for that you need to put the SS2 folder in your ST2 sounds folder (under the same root folder). You do lose the cute pictures though in ST2 http://www.indiegrooves.com/dnm/images/dnm_small.gif My Blog
Reverend Rhythm
Oh. I was confused. Sorry. I edited the post about. I thought you meant does it run inside ST2 or is it a separate program. Doh! Yes, it is a VSTi and needs a host. David
Squids
It isn't linked to on the main site because it is a link you are supposed to know from reading the magazine. We were even going to put a password on it relating to that issue but since it had taken so much time we left it at just "knowing the link". Here it is: www.ikmultimedia.com/keyboardss2.html You have to be sure to download BOTH the app (in either Mac or PC) and the sounds (which will work for either). It is the sounds themselves that relate to the Keyboard magazine's May issue article on the making of Sonik Synth 2 and jamming with some classic synth riffs. There are also exclusive patches in there that are only available from this link while it is there. We'll hopefully do some more exclusive sounds for Keyboard magazine in the near future. Anyway, Sonik Sytnh 2 is a plug-in so it does not to be used inside another host. If you want to use it stand alone on a PC you can go to www.xlutop.com and download the demo of Chainer (which is free and functions as a stand alone host for VSTi and VST effects in a cool way). But, as a plug-in you can use this as VSTi, Audio Units (mac) or DXi (Free RTAS update coming soon too for Mac and PC ProTools users). So, hosts you could use it in are Cubase, FruityLoops, GarageBand, Sonar, Project 5, Logic, Digital Performer and others. I hope you like it! This is just a very small taste of what the real commercial version is like. That will be out in October. In fact, I am working on it right now. (I have to widdle it down because it is over 10 gigs on my HD!!!! But, I think we're going to have some kind of a special upgrade to all of the outtakes because, man, it's ALL good! I love this stuff.). Aka: Dave from Sonic Reality http://www.sonicreality.com http://www.esoundz.com
dontae
POW!!!You guys hit it on the nose!I have protools only. So I waited 4 months for nothing. I can't hear the free version because it does not load inside protools (ST2XL). That was the problem. Are they going to give protools users the benefit of free keyboard mag version or do I have to buy the bundle in OCT.? Thanks
Squids
There will be a free version for ProTools coming for both ST2 FREE and Sonik Synth 2 FREE. But, this will be in October when the full version will also be available. I don't know which will be available first. But, there's more to this free version than just the keyboard magazine article sounds. Another set of sounds is coming as well as an announcement to everyone (not just Keyboard readers). But, the secret keyboard link will be up for a little while though too. (those sounds will not be available in the main IK area when SS2 FREE is announced. So bookmark that link! As you can see it is not linked to within the IK site either. This is a Keyboard mag exclusive.). We're uploading some more free patches for Sonik Synth 2 FREE on www.esoundz.com as well. Sorry for the delay on the ProTools version. There is some good news about it when it is available... can't say yet what that is but it is a functionality thing.
