jimmymio
I'm looking to buy a software piano for pop/rock recording. Is the White piano the best choice for me? Has anybody yet heard Ivory? I know this has been discussed before but it's been awhile and we know how things change. zeronyne
I think Ivory may just change everything in terms of what is "good" and "playable", but I've only heard short samples. MP3's and recordings in general do a poor job of representing the actual "experience". I hope they have a demo version of it soon with at least a cutdown sample set and time bomb. I'd really like to hear it in my setup. "For instance" is not proof.
area51recording
I've been using the white grand for a while now and have to say it's an excellent choice for pop/rock stuff (as well as some jazz things) I've got several other libs such as Vintaudio Yam C7, PMI Bose and Old Lady, and the Bardstown Bose, but the White Grand is my "go to" piano for most stuff. Really great detail and playability.
jimmymio
Hey area51: What DAW do you use with The White Grand? I use Logic w/ a dual 2 gig G5 but I've heard people say they have had a problem w/ this instrument on Logic's EXS. To be fair, they seem to be having problems with many large pianos. zvenx
:-)just re-read the original post and would like to say never mind :-) and ignore my previous post........for pop/rock, all the reasons why I dont' like the ivory to me may make it the better choice than the galaxy steinway 5.1rsp richard sven sound sculptist
