Bartolomeo
Fresh from Sweetwater, my new Motion Sound KP-200s arrived yesterday. It is somewhat bulkier than I had imagined, due to the depth from front to back. The sound quality is good and it seems like it has enough bass for most purposes, depite the comparatively small bass drivers. The control and connector layout are as good as I had hoped for. Build quality seems high, with no misfitting or misaligned parts. I had expected it to come with wheels, but it did not. There is some hum and noise from the mixer which is quite noticable in a quiet room when the master volume is turned up much. Overall, I like it, and think it will work out well. The best thing about it is the way they incorporated all the mixer features that make sense into the amp without adding any useless stuff to increase weight and cost. Also, I did get a Standtastic on the strength of the recommendations here a week or two ago. I like it. It is indeed solid. I got the mic attachment point for it and a Quiklok boom and set that up for vocals. Bartolomeo
Steve in KS
Congrats!I like mine although I miss the true stereo separation you get from speakers spaced around you.Mine came with wheels attached (it was pre-owned) but I took them off because I have the KP200s on a stand and wouldn't want to see it foll off!It is a bit bulky, but worth it when you compare it to the limitations of the 100s.Hope you enjoy it! daBowsa
The caster set is available for $46 on Motion Sound's website, its part number DCS4. You could probably buy a generic set of casters and through them on there using these instructions .

resigned
I found that the hum can be eliminated by using a ground lift on the power cables to your keyboard(s) but keep the three-prong power cable on the amp. Using three-prong power cables on all of your keyboard(s) AND the amp creates a ground loop hum, so just use a three-prong power cable on the amp only. The amp is plugged into an outlet that has no ground (old house). The board is a Nord Lead 3, which only has a two-wire power connection. Maybe if I ground the amp it will quiet down somewhat. I do have a grounded outlet on the opposite wall. Thanks for the idea. Bartolomeo
hermanjoe
I owned a KP200s for a few weeks and had similar problems with the hum. I auditioned a 100 and did not notice the hum in that model. Consequently that is why I returned it. Often the noise comes form the mixer section as you said. I ended up going to a mixer-to-power amp setup. I still have some noise due to my low quality mixer which I am going to replace when I find a good one. Good luck with it. You may want to call Motion sound and talk to them about it. They have good service. MikeT156
Congrats Bart! GAS strikes again! Well, how do you like it? Does it have enough "Leslie" sound for you? How about power? Mike T.
