RABid
Confused by the topic? Guessing that I hate the Motif sequencer? Wondering if Rabid is going off on some tangent again? Let me clear things up a bit. (maybe, wrong and maybe) Next week I am having a bit of surgery. Nothing serious, but I have been told that I might want to avoid stairs for a couple weeks. I live in a two story apartment. Kitchen, living room and utility rooms downstairs, bedroom, full bath and bedroom studio upstairs. To prepare for this time I am cooking in advance, pulling things out of the higher cabinets that I may need, moving clothing into the utility room, and creating a makeshift studio in the corner of the living room. That studio will consist of two things; Motif ES6 and a Virus Classic. It has to stay very simple. No reaching for a mouse or stretching for the laptop. I want to use the Motif as the sequencer and connect the Virus by MIDI and run it through the audio inputs of the Motif. This should give me a very simple setup that I can monitor though the Motif headphone jack. What I want to do is set up some standard multis for sequencing that use the Motif internal sounds, two expansion boards, and the Virus. An example would be 1-7 internal Motif sounds8 FM board9 VA board10 internal Motif drums11 internal Motif percussion12-16 Virus Classic in multi channel. Im not sure how to set this up so that channels 12-16 go only to the Virus. And can I get it to automatically recall the Virus patch number when I a song in the motif? Bonus question. How do I record an arp pattern I play on the Virus back into the Motif? Example; Im playing the keys of the Motif to trigger sounds and patterns on the Virus, and run the MIDI out of the virus back into the Motif. How do I record the output of the Virus into the Motif instead of the keys that I am playing on the Motif? Robert This post edited for speling. Mike Martin
From Song Mode or Pattern Mode, press the button labeled TRACK. Then select OUT SW. Here you can choose whether a track is INTERNAL, EXTERNAL or both (default). -Mike Martin Casio Mike Martin Photography Instagram Facebook The Big Picture Photography Forum on Music Player Network The opinions I post here are my own and do not represent the company I work for.
