I'm getting ready to hit the 1,000 mark...

Recommended Posts

I've been a member of this forum for nearly 3 years and just noticed my post count is at 998, so with this post it will be 999. I peruse this forum daily and contribute fairly often. I tend to contribute only when I have some good advice or expertise to share, which is one reason my post count may be a bit lower...I also avoid a lot of the OT one-liners. Not that there is anything wrong with that! I just prefer to make my posts meaningful, for the most part.

I had a strange night last weekend after I responded to a bunch of redundant questions posted by a certain unnamed forum member who has a long and sordid history and I actually USED CAPITALS for perhaps the first time on a forum! This was driven by the fact that all of these aforementioned questions were deleted by the original poster and he completely wasted my time! Another guy came along and scolded me for this and I realized life is too short for Capital Letters on an internet forum. I do value my time when I am online browsing, so wasting a bunch of it on the same old nonsense is really not my favorite thing to do.

Anyways, I just wanted to announce my impending milestone! I wonder if I can watch this trend and expect to hit 2,000 posts in 2007...will we even have internet forums like this in 3 years? By then, it may all be holographic images and mind-meld activities.

Regards,

Eric

Eric:

You have no reason to apologize for getting on "you know who's" case. His nit picking even gets on my nerves and I'm not known for staying on topic and like to play jokes whenever I get the chance. He's done the same thing on other forums and it gets old.

Just keep the positive posts coming. I may not worship Nord as you do, but I enjoy reading your posts and have learned some things from you. Keep it up. :)

Ooooops,...my bad. I didn't mean to scold you :o . Congratulations on your 1000th post!

Hey Eric, before I knew about this forum, I think you helped me out. I had a problem with my CX3 and somehow landed on clonewheel - last winter I think. Anyway, you got me in touch with the right Korg service gurus here in Canada - btw they couldn't help, but after an OS upgrade, the problems were rectified.

I just wanted to say, "thanks!" and also for the fact there's somebody else out there that's into the same stuff I am.

Yeah, Eric...don't apologize. You're a valued member here and sometimes people just have to use caps when all other avenues of communication are ineffective on someone. I didn't have the pleasure of reading the thread you're referring to, but I'm sure you wouldn't pipe up like that without excellent reason.

BTW - your old D-550 is enjoying her new home :D:D:D

Thanks!

Yeah, you´re the kind of member any board would want - always helpful and knowledgable. We also seem to have similar taste in music and gear, it´s great to get input from you. I´m still waiting for that post count to go to four figures; maybe this is the perfect thread to do it!

Right on, Eric! Your bleeding-edge experiments into GAS territory have influenced my decision to buy an Electro instead of the VR-760, and I took your advice on the Mo Sound KT-80s. Thanks!

I, like you, lurk here often (at least a couple times a week if not everyday) and try to post only meaningful stuff. It keeps the post count down, to be sure.

But even with low post count, it's a known fact, I'd say, that YOUR contributions are quite valued!

Eric,

Conrats on reaching your 1K post! Like many others here, I, too, value your comments. (I play an S90 and you've almost got me convinced to add on the Electro ...)

As for the other guy, Illegitimi Non Carborundum ("Don't let the bastards grind you down" for the Latin-challenged). His comments are, in his own words, "weird and phasey"

Conrats Eric! :thu:

You've helped me on many occasions and have spawned several ideas based on your creative solutions to problems we all face. Your rig customizations are admirable, thoroughness in gear reviews invaluable (Invisible Stands in particular), and redirection skills unparalleled (you pointed me to the Clonewheel forum and Dave Amels, founder or Voce).

But most of all, when you see something you want, you go out, wrap your arms around it, and post a review or picture to tell us all about it! For that, we admire and respect you. Like Bo Derek, for example:

Aw shucks, you guys are too much! Thanks for the nice message Ben. This is a great community and I really appreciate all the virtual friends I have made around here. Somehow I'll need to meet up with some of you folks, so let's keep lines open if people are traveling around and think they will come close to someone else on the forum. I was out in Seattle in July and missed a couple of forum regulars by just a day! I did not have enough advance notice to really plan anything.

Eric

If that's really you in the canoe Eric, I have to say I wanted to high-tail it everytime I saw you coming down the river. (however that's all changed since I discovered you're really only the alphabet deputy. :D )

Actually, the photo of the canoe loaded down with a Leslie and towing a Hammond came from another very inventive forum member, zeronyne. Check out this thread for full details. Definitely one of my favorite threads of all time!
