the stranger
Fritz The Nite Owl (see link in my sig) has recently turned me on to Charles Earland- The Mighty Burner. A couple weeks ago he played "Girl, you need a change of mind" off of Funk Fantastique. This past Sunday he played a track off of "The Mighty Burner" compilation. Needless to say, he is a burner. And both tracks I've heard feature great players all around. And whoever plays guitar on these tracks seems to be totally locked in with Charles. I've got the two albums I mentioned on the top of my "need to get, pronto" list. And the b3 sounds great, doesn't it? I wouldn't have been able to indentify a b3, but know I know that sound. I've of course heard it many times before, but never made the connection between the sound and the name.
coyote
Earland couldn't possibly have played those things a couple weeks ago. He died almost five years ago.... Until I saw their platform; now I know I'm no more Libertarian than I am RepubliCrat or neoCON or Liberal or Socialist. This ain't no track meet; this is football. the stranger
Fritz The Nite Owl played the tracks on his radio show. I re-read my post and it seems clear. Maybe not. Hmmm..
