MIDIdiot
I have recently retrieved my old (1st) synth from storage at my brother's for some 10 years. It's a Poly-61. No MIDI. I thought it would be cool to hear again but to my dismay, it doesn't even power on. Apparently, it wasn't kept in the hard case, why I don't know. Perhaps when my nieces were younger, they "used" it. Does anyone know if this can be fixed and also, if it can be modified/installed with a MIDI interface? Lastly, would it be worth the effort/$$. I can't remember much about it but it is analog so must have some nice sounds...
zeronyne
Might be cheaper to get THIS. A MIDI retrofit is about $300 for a Poly 61. You can get one HERE. There are a million reasons why it might not power up. You'll probably have to replace the internal battery anyway, so you might as well take it to a tech and get an estimate. "For instance" is not proof.
MIDIdiot
Hmm, legacy collection I'm sure is awesome but I'm strictly hard synth at the moment. I'm not equipped at all for soft. I guess I was hoping for a cheap repair (I know, what world am I living in).
