Tim Mayock Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I hear this song way to much. I think John Mayer is a talented musician and I like some of his other songs. I am a pop musician, doing similar music, but this song gets under my skin. I think the song will make a really nice Michael Bolton cover 5 years from now. Ok, maybe thats a cheap shot but I needed to vent a little. I often listen to a radio station in Western Massachusetts (WRNX) and they play this song 4-5 times during my day. What's it like in your part of the world? Is the rest of the world getting assaulted by certain songs with this frequency? How does the lobbying thing work? The radio station has a "Listener Advisory Board", I wonder how much it determines the radio station's playlist? This forum is comprised of "students of music" and I wonder how we differ from other radio station listeners? http://www.themayocks.com Hear The Mayocks on Rhapsody and Itunes
not Cereal Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 i HATE that song. however the first 20 seconds are pretty dam good. hey, that song belongs in the "song intro's that dont suck on songs that DO suck" thread
Magpel Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 I liked it better when it was called "Crash." And I only liked that song 'cause I knew a couple of the dancers in the video. Check out the Sweet Clementines CD at bandcamp
BNC Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 That song drives me nuts too. I hate the guy's voice. Its on mtv constantly, every time I flip through the channels he's there.
deanmass Posted December 21, 2002 Posted December 21, 2002 So... Do you hate it because you actually hate it...or because it is now in heavy rotation? It is a damn good pop song.... Why do we behoove these people popular success? Swarmed in women and pulling in great cash for playing guitar..? naaaaawwww....that sucks... Come on...
Dylan Posted December 21, 2002 Posted December 21, 2002 They do play him WAY too much here in Portland too. I don't mind John Mayer, but I wish that they'd mix it up a bit... The radio in Portland has to be the crustiest, most stale, repetitive shit on the whole damn planet.
Uh Clem Posted December 21, 2002 Posted December 21, 2002 How do you guys manage to come across such things? Steve Powell - Bull Moon Digital www.bullmoondigital.com
Brakka Posted December 21, 2002 Posted December 21, 2002 How do you manage to not? :D Mayer is everywhere! IMO, his singing is too affected. That's with the accent on AFF, and I mean that he is consciously trying to make his voice sound weird. And his facial contortions creep me out. The ladies like his rear end.
