http://www.medialinenews.com/issues/2002/december/news1218_2.shtml An interesting change in how Warner/Electra/Atlantic will market and distribute their music. Especially in light of how they plan to: "create greater consumer visibility of releases from both developing and established artists. In addition, the company will create a "lifestyles" sales staff with the mission of addressing the non-traditional customer base as well as handling and merchandising non-traditional product in traditional music retailers. WEA will finally place a greater emphasis on new media to better position itself as a distributor of recorded music in both "physical" as well as digital form." No obvious whining about pirates and evil criminal consumers, just a company reacting to reality and hoping to profit from it.

It could also be disaster for the comapany if this "re-org" means they are in financial trouble.
I really don't know what to put here.

WEA as in AOL Time Warner WEA... How many billions have they lost lately? Music is a small industry compared to the other fish these guys have to fry. It would be a good idea if they actually promote from the ground up, rather than from the mass-market down.
