thisDude
I saw a commercial for some car (don't remember which one) in which two guys with boom mics are sampling sounds from the car and creating electronic music from it. I didn't get a good look at it, but man, what a cool commercial. Did anyone see what they were using?
Intheether
It's a commercial for Nissan and the guys are Ming & FS . They are using an mpc2000xl, looks like a kurz. and a mac with I don't know what software. They're on OM records and are amazingly talented electronic musicians. Their cd "Hell's Kitchen" is one of my all time favorite discs. *
Brakka
That's a great ad. I haven't seen it in a couple of months, though.
Jeff Klopmeyer
The Nissan is the new Altima. The Mac software is Pro Tools (go figure). And yeah, I like the ad as well. It's cool to see music production being featured in a consumer-oriented product campaign. - Jeff Marketing Communications for MI/Pro Audio My solo music and stuff They Stole My Crayon
thisDude
Nissan must have some brilliant marketing people. Between the concept of that commercial and sponsoring free A-List shows around the country (I saw STP for free), they really have their finger on the pulse of what younger people are into. Jeff, I only saw that commercial once during a football game, but are you sure it was Protools they were using? I remember the GUI being really colorfull. Oh well, like it really matters... If I see the spot again, I'll try and actually look. And yeah, Nissan's marketing is really good right now. - Jeff Marketing Communications for MI/Pro Audio My solo music and stuff They Stole My Crayon
Intheether
When they perform live, they use Final Scratch software b/c they use cd decks, no traditional tables. In the January 02' issue of REMIX magazine, they said they use Digital Performer in the studio. *
