Yamaha pedal question

So my Roland DP6 is getting old and worn out. I still have a Yamaha pedal lying here, that came with my P120. I think it's an FC7. The thing only works with my P120, how about that? On my CS6x there's no sustain and on my MIDI controller it either doesn't work. Is that normal and how can I get it to work?

Thats because the pedal that you have for your P120 is a continuous controller sustain pedal. Its designed specifically for the P-series to do half pedaling. Sorry but I think you'll need another pedal for those other instruments. Double check underneath the pedal to see if there is a switch (I've seen this on the PF500's pedal that would let you switch the pedal to normal operation).

Nope, it's not there. Guess I have to buy a new DP6. This pedal is the bomb, but its switches are making a hell of a noise now and it's probably the reason for my MIDI notes get stuck problem. If I kick the pedal after the notes got stuck, all the notes get released and I hear a click in the pedal.

Not bad, after almost fifteen years.
