hermanjoe
Is it possible to play a midi controller using a rack module for a sound while simultaneously playing another midi controller using that same rack module for a different sound. Both controllers would need access to different sounds and layered sounds with full range of the keyboard. Is this possible simply just using 2 different midi channels? Markyboard
Yes - as long as the module is mutitimbral (meaning capable of playing more then one sound at a time) and you have a way of merging the midi output from each controller into the module. Most midi interface boxes like the MOTU MTP series, midiman, emagic Unitors/AMT do this. There are many others as well.
hermanjoe
Thanks for the reply. The module I was thinking of is the Kurzweil PC2-R which I believe is multi-timbral. "Learn the changes, then forget them." -Charlie Parker
