40hertz Posted April 9, 2004 Share Posted April 9, 2004 hello everyone! i am a regular at the lowdown forum and i am looking for some advice about the esx-1 (the new electribe sampler from korg). i bought it one week ago. as you may know, it has two 12ax7 tubes. mine has two electroharmonixs, "made in russia". can i replace these tubes, with a better pair? has anyone of you tried this? thank you very much in advance! I doubt that they will behave like a typical tube-driven amplifier when the tube is swapped out...I imagine the tolerances are very low. Does the electribe's tube only effect the output stage like in the Tiron Extreme? I haven't seen the Electribe's manual yet, so I am curious. "For instance" is not proof.
