Nawor Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 ARRGGHH!! My bank stuffed up a check deposit. It got lost in their system. Because they lost it for nearly ten days.. there was insufficient funds to cover my automatic car and house payments. If they hadn't lost it this situation never would have occurred. So being nice guys they covered the payments...and then slugged me $25 dollars penalty for each. THEY fucked up AND charged ME for their incompetence!!! And now that I'm trying to get them to refund my money they can't seem to organize a screw in a knock shop. Two hours on the phone talking to a fuckin' automated answering system that does nothing but send me round in circles until it cuts me off! ARRRRGGHH! Banks shit me right up the wall! BTW have you seen the movie 'The Bank' with Anthony La Paglia and David Wenham? Those bastards really get whats coming to them! Check it out and smile! :D ... BASTARDS!! "WARNING!" - this artificial fruit juice may contain traces of REAL FRUIT!!
Tedster Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 Yeah, don't even get me started. I'd like to see a new kind of crime..."armed check cashing" Man: "I'd like to cash this check" Teller: "Do you have an account here?" Man: "Yes, my account number is ### ## #### ###" Teller: "Thank you, sir" Teller: "We're sorry, but you haven't had the account long enough, and you don't have enough funds to cover the check" Man: "But, ma'am, this is an income tax refund check from the government" Teller: "That doesn't matter. Good day sir" Man: "But, I need the money today or they'll shut my electricity off!" Teller: "You can deposit it, and it will be available for withdrawal within 10 business days" Man: "But it's a government check!!!" Teller: "NEXT!" Man (sticking .357 in Teller's face): "CASH THE FUCKING CHECK, BITCH, AND NOBODY GETS HURT!" "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
T. Ehl Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 if my job did not require the need to cash multiple checks i would not have a bank account they are extorting money from us the charges go up every year i can not even go inside my own bank without being charged to do so it is such an evil thing
Sylver Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 Keep at them and keep climbing up the pole to get that $25 charge removed. They will eventually credit you, but you need to be persistant. I really don't know what to put here.

When you get an income tax refund, printed on the check is, 'official check', meaning the funds have been verified (like a cashiers check/money order). My bank, of which I've been a member since 1990, every year gives me grief about cashing Fed. checks. Last year, I had to get the Br. mgr. on the case & he wouldn't cash it until I asked him, 'have you ever heard of the FDIC? Umm, that is the same org. that certifies the check is good'. -beat them at their own game. :) Matt In two days, it won't matter.
Gtoledo3 Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 Row- Let me guess- are you with Bank Of America? I've had several friends that have told me of the same thing happenning with Bank of Amerrica- to the point where I'm kind of suspicious about it. They did the same thing to me a year ago when I had an account there. I think they may be an "Enron" in sheep's clothing. They're on the cutting edge of ripping people off. Groovepusher Sly Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 That's one of the reasons I don't have direct deposit or automatic bill payment. I can't get to the idea of the bank having control over 80% of my money. It's bad enough they don't want you to come into the bank. They want to take complete control of all your transactions. There are so many times I've caught the utilities overcharging me. If I have automatic bill payment I would have had to check out my bill online, after I suspected something was wrong. Bad idea IMO. Franknputer Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 I think the key here is that it is their mistake. You should keep after them - talk to a human, and ask to speak to a manager if they don't help you. The bank can easily reverse the service charges - my bank has done this for me before, even when it wasn't necessarily their fault. They did it just to keep me happy, since I cared enough to complain.
