Bunny Knutson Posted December 15, 2002 Posted December 15, 2002 Stereolab's multi-instrumentalist Mary Hansen has died at age 36. She was killed on Monday in a cycling accident in London. She was talented. I really liked some of the things Stereolab did. She joined the band in 1992. Their 1997 album Dots and Loops is absolutely brilliant, I love it. This is really, really too bad. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/021214/6/qu7g.html http://www.cnn.com/2002/SHOWBIZ/Music/12/12/mroom.stereolab/ https://bunny.bandcamp.com/ https://theystolemycrayon.bandcamp.com/
The Studio Pet-Rock Posted December 15, 2002 Posted December 15, 2002 Crap. Seems to be a lot of good ones checking out this year. What's that about? Sympathy and emapathy to those who were closest to her.
Jotown Posted December 15, 2002 Posted December 15, 2002 I don't know her work, but I hate to see any artist leave before their time. God bless her. Jotown:) "It's all good: Except when it's Great"
Tedster Posted December 15, 2002 Posted December 15, 2002 Too bad...I hate that sort of news. I wasn't familiar with Stereolab either, but now I'll have to check them out. "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
Skip_dup1 Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 Stereolab-really interesting music, I told myself many times to try a stab in that direction sometime. They were here within the last year or so-sucks.
Sexy Bastard Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 What a shame. She really was a great musician.
Hanshananigan Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 Thanks for the heads up dbunny. I'm very sorry to hear that- they were unique and will be missed.
