So did anyone buy one of these yet from FMR Audio ? I was hearing a lot of pre-release info but never heard from anyone that actually bought one. I know some of you guys are using The RNC.

OT... just got a small Berry mixer for my kid (602a) $59,95 at the Friend. Very quiet for the money. Tranparent pre's (to my rotten ears) too. Actually sounds as good as the mackie to me. Bill

I'm hangin' out too. Harvey Gerst gave a positive review but it would be good to hear from one of the regulars here. According to Fletcher's website, there's a heap of backorders for these things. http://www.mercenary.com/fmrrnmp.html It's an instrumentation amplifier class A design. Athough it uses no tubes or transformers, from what I've read it's supposed to have 'iron' in the sound (al la Neve) but with 'air' in the top end. Kind of 'balls' and 'finesse' at the same time. Anyway go figure. The proof's in the listening. ;)

So I guess they're still on back order. If I was buying a front end for recording work right now that's what I would go for, along with the RNC and a Studio Projects C1 mic. Where's my friend eljefe? He was considering buying that very set-up.

I helped a guy spend some money yesterday. We went with the new Studio Projects pre, the RNC and a C-1. All for under $600. We would have just as easily picked up the the RNMP but the SP was what was available. I will take this opportunity to say that I'm jealous of the set up and would go out and do the same for myself if I was in the market. It's AMAZING the stuff that's out there for under $200 right now. Kudos to the little guys who fight hard to bring us this stuff.

First off, I'm thrilled so see a 'real' thread these days. :thu: People at some of the other forums (harmony central, etc.) are talking like they love them but I'm not sure how many RNPs are out there yet. Don't know if you've seen the latest little trick out of the Studio Projects bag. Have a look: http://studioprojectsusa.com/c4.html bob
