mattswan
I'm brand new with this forum business... I'm a composer, recently graduated from school, who's looking into buying a keyboard for writing. I'm not a keyboardist (my instrument is bass), and I'm not completely familiar with all the technology, so I'm not sure what to look for. Basically, my price range is below a thousand. I don't expect to be using the keyboard for performance, but I would like something with good MIDI capabilities (though it seems most keyboards have something). Eventually I'd like to invest in a good computer system with notation software (Finale, or something similar), and other software like ProTools, because I'd like to get into electronic music, though for now, I know very, very little, and don't need anything too extravagant. So, I guess I'm looking for a good, affordable intro keyboard, something versatile and capable of somewhat more powerful operations, but not more fancy than I'd know how to use at this point. So, yeah, not too much to ask... Any suggestions? Thanks!
