micah
Hello, I'm trying to find a good sample CD/library that has really good funk and R&B bass guitar loops, without paying an arm and a leg. I'm just a hobbyist keyboard player. Any suggestions? I've alreay tried primesounds, sonicstate, big fish, and soundsonline and the downloadable bass guitar loops, for the most part, suck. Thanks. Mark Zeger
Can you define "an arm and a leg"? Spectrasonics' "Bass Legends" has loops from Marcus Miller, Abe Laboriel Sr., and John Pattitucci. The Marcus loops are as funky as you'd expect. Spectrasonics products are generally excellent but never inexpensive. I have the Will Lee "Ultra Freakin' Bass" library from Sampleheads. There are some solid funk/R&B loops on it, but the music styles are all over the map. Then again, you expect diversity from Will Lee. You might check out Spectrasonics' Trilogy and use the bass sounds to create your own loops. You'll probably get a lot more long term value from Trilogy than a CD-ROM of loops. micah
Thanks...thats helpful. I consider an arm and a leg to be more than a hunderd dollars. I am only a hobbyist, so I cant really justify spending 2 or 3 hundred on some samples. Thanks.
