Tuning Temperament ?

I downloaded a nice freeware "Frequency Tuner" program for my pocketpc. There's a setting to change the temperament of the tuning with the following choices:

 

Equal

Just intonation

Kirnberger

Mean tone 1-4 comma

Pythagore

Salinas 1-3 comma

Sibermann 1-6 comma

Vallotti

Werckmeister

Werckmeister III

 

They all seem to show A4=440 and A5=880 but have slight variations on the notes in between. Does anyone actually use a temperament other than equal? Does any one sound better than another?
