Hippie Posted December 12, 2002 Posted December 12, 2002 That is/was not a Stingray bass. In two days, it won't matter.
Franknputer Posted December 12, 2002 Posted December 12, 2002 That would be a Stingray II guitar - which is indeed a rarity. At first glimpse I thought it was a Pete Townsend collectible!
Paul Berolzheimer Posted December 13, 2002 Posted December 13, 2002 Funny thing about those Stingrays- I know of something very similar happening to one; A friend of mine found one in someone's trash which looked perfect but when he picked it up it fell apart, having been eaten by termites. He rang the bell of the house to find out the story & was told that it had been fine a week earlier, but they (the owner's parents apparently) didn't thing it was worth anything & were just clearing stuff out of their garage. Paul Berolzheimer Progenitor of 2 amazing sound sources
