Dave Horne
As many of you know I own a Yamaha GranTouch 1, a hybrid piano, a real piano action with an excellent piano sample. For several months now I had a problem where several notes across the keyboard would not sound. I went to the store (down the street) where I bought the piano and the owner gave me the number of a tech. The part was ordered two months ago and was just installed today. Had I known which part to replace, I could have done the job myself and saved some money. The part that was replaced has 12 LEDs that supply the light across the entire keyboard's optical system. I also had a problem where notes would sustain without me using the sustain pedal and I (and the tech) are hoping that this solves that problem as well. It's amazing how you can live with a problem where certain notes across the keyboard do not sound and you simply live with it. At any rate, I trust this repair did the trick. No guitarists were harmed during the making of this message. In general, harmonic complexity is inversely proportional to the ratio between chording and non-chording instruments.
