Cowfingers Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 most people here seem to have an mp3.com or peoplesound.com etc. account with their music on it, but does anyone here actually go to these sites to listen to new music? I ask this because i forgot to bring CDs into work for the last couple of days so ive been listening to lots of stuff from these sites and well...i'm yet to find a single thing that i really liked. does anyone else find this? Visit my band : www.neonfleacircus.net or www.myspace.com/neonfleacircus
AlanThomas Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 I've found quite a bit of good music on MP3.com and I've bought a couple of CDs from their as well. Sure, there's tons that I don't like but that's true of the radio and my local record store too. Signatures can appear at the bottom of your posts. Cowfingers Posted December 10, 2002 Author Posted December 10, 2002 well the music listed as Funk on mp3.com and peoplesound.com is some of the most unfunky funk ive ever heard!..maybe its just their classification is bad.. Visit my band : www.neonfleacircus.net or www.myspace.com/neonfleacircus
jeffbayson Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 These aren't exactly MP3's but... If you have a fast connection, check out the streaming music videos, played on demand, for free, here: Sputnik7 They have hundreds of electronic, indie rock and hip-hop music videos that fall mainly outside of the mainstream. They also have short films and anime. Very cool stuff. My roommate practically runs the whole damn site - he writes all of the content and selects the music. It's not rinky-dink, however: it won the Webby award for Best Music Site on the Internet two years ago. (I'm not spamming you, by the way. My roommate won't make any more money if you visit the site. He's salaried. And he's quitting his job next month.)

I was just looking at it five minutes ago. It must have crashed. I'll call my friend and tell him.
doc taz Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 I go to sonicfish.com to check out stuff too. Every now and then a good one pops up, like the concert from Living Colour from spring of 2001 from Galaxy Theater in Santa Rosa (?) CA. That concert kicked major ass! Sure, I like the new bands too, but I'm fairly sure some of them were influenced by LC to some degree. :) sevenstring.org profile my flickr page
Wewus432 Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 Have you listened to SSS Expert Radio . I can't get the page to come up.
jeffbayson Posted December 12, 2002 Posted December 12, 2002 I recommended www.sputnik7.com in this thread. If you haven't visited it yet, and if it remotely interests you, I recommend doing it soon. It's gonna get shut down soon. If it hasn't been shut down already. My roommate - who basically runs the site - just got laid off, along with half of Palm Pictures, which owns the site, along several film & record label imprints. More ominous rumblings in the industry...
