zeronyne
In case upi haven't seen it, registered owners of a 324 card (that came with the 2408mkII, 1224, 308, etc.) are eligible for an upgrade to a G5-compatible 424 card for $300.00 This reverses MOTU's original position (stated on Unicornation among other places) that this upgrade path would "never happen". This is great news. The 424 card, in addition to being compatible with the G5's slots, provides some of the functionality of a digital mixer...super low latency monitoring, for example. "For instance" is not proof.
henryrobinett
Can it work in a non G5 machine. Will it work in my G4? All the best, Henry Robinett
zeronyne
I think the card is compatible with G4's. MOTU's PDF is not clear about it. There's some confusion about it on Unicornation, but I remember the previous discussions stating that the 5 volt cards being backwards compatible. My own intention is to use it in a G4, so I'll let you know. "For instance" is not proof.
