Yamaha CS6x Performance programming problems.

Not too many cs6x users here, but what the hell.

I`m trying to program a performance that will fade one of the parts with the mod wheel. Your basic piano+strings, where I can control the string volume with the mod wheel.

I program the string sound so that it fades with the mod wheel. All right, I get it to sound right like I want.

So I create a performance that has 2 parts, one the above patch (from the cs6x engine), and a piano patch from the PLG PF card.

Sounds right - except the wheel doesn't fade out the string sound. I got to the controllers page, and make sure I have MW set to ON for the part containing the string sound, and OFF for the piano sound. No luck.

WTH? I should be able to do this. As far as I can tell, when you create a performance, the controller setting gets carried over from the voice, and then you disable the specific controller (PB, MW, RB, AT) for the specific part, if you want the effect or not.

I know I can get this to work using a voice, but I want to use the piano patch from the PLG card, which is MUCH better.

Suggestions?
