zeronyne
Something's been bothering me lately. So some of you guys remember our little Alaskan friend who was very enthusiastic over the Casio WK3500? Well, as you know, the cheerleading got a bit out of hand and someone got the boot. I, for one, was relieved that the posting flood was alleviated and things got back to normal. But it bothered me all this time. Not that someone got the boot, but that someone would be that rabid over a Casio. So today, I was at my local McMusic store, and while buying some stuff, I happened to catch site of.... THE CASIO WK3500!!! OK, so here was my chance to try to empathize and figure out what the big deal was. So here's my Keyboard Magazine-style review of the Casio WK3500. I played it. I played it with headphones to be sure that I was not biased by the speakers. Surprise! It's crap. Well, let me qualify that:At the retail price of $549.00 US, the Yamahas blow it away. At its asking price of $399.00, it's just an average deal, sound quality-wise. For some reason, I thought that it would be like the Korg i series or something. What was the big deal about this thing? Why would someone get so crazy about it? I'm more disturbed than before. "For instance" is not proof.

He suggested to this drummer, who was having trouble getting a good sound recorded, to buy an Alesis HR16 drum machine ! The funny thing is that he is serious.
