LawrenceF Posted December 7, 2002 Posted December 7, 2002 I'm using the Digi ASIO driver with Cubase SX and I've discovered something quite strange. First a little background... Being a Cubase user for many years I always test the sample accuracy of my daw when I change computers or add new hardware. Not sample accurate transfers but the accuracy of the incoming (recorded) signal as opposed to what's actually playing. I like to make sure the timing is tight. This is what I would do. 1. Create a two bar click track with a virtual drum instrument rimshot quantized to the quarter note. 2. Play that signal out of the hardware and loop it right back in to another track. 3. Zoom in to the sample level and see how close they are. I usually have to slide the new track back (minus) some to make the samples line up perfectly and when I do I use that track shift value in all the audio tracks in my default/startup song. This ensures that musicians and vocalists performances are placed exactly where they played them in relation to the the music. I did this with the MBox analog and believe it or not the new track had to be shifted FORWARD (plus) by 72.192ms to make the samples line up perfectly. The new track was noticably MUCH EARLIER than the original click. Somebody's math is way the hell off! It's not a problem because I set them all for the same value but what the heck could be causing this? Is it the Digi Asio driver or SX? Strange. Lawrence
thisDude Posted December 7, 2002 Posted December 7, 2002 This is news to me. Does this mean I could use an old digi001 as an interface to Cubase 5.1?

Duhduh Posted December 7, 2002 Posted December 7, 2002 Damn. I still cant get Nuendo to see the Digi hardware. All it sees is my Sounblaster Live! Ugh. "Meat is the only thing you need beside beer!
