Zero Phoenix
I want to create some elecrtonic instruments like a theremin, analog synth, and some warped out ideas of my own. Where would be the best place to start? Any resources, or website links are much appreciated.
bitdump
I would start with kits like the paia stuff as they have a affordable theremin kit and the fatman or there modular, both are good and will help you start building. If you want to make em from scratch, well gee, depends on what your doing, pure analog, using micro processors and such. Check music machines site as there is a lot of info on mods for stuff like the paia fatman there and a few other places. Get ready to read a lot. I really am just taking a stab at this, there is a lot that goes on in making making a synth these days, depending on how far you want to go. Try goole search for synth DIY Names to Remember: Charles Stepney & Emory Cook
Phil B
Anyone know how the Fatman sounds? Could be fun to try to build one of these things.
Peake
Craig Anderton, just a couple of forums north of here, had a great book of projects for electronic musicians... Give me the ANALOG and no one gets HURT
dementia13
Craig Anderton designed a lot of the PAIA things, and they offer parts kits for the projects in his books.
