Well, the Arturia one is all the rage, isn't it? It isn't cheap. I tried the demo. I hear that the Pulsar emulations are great, but that's PCI card, right?

Come on, Pat, spring for a Voyager ;)

And there's the Model E, but really...go buy a Voyager. Save up. Sell something. You won't regret it.

k.

9 Moog things, 3 Roland things, 2 Hammond things and a computer with stuff on it

He doesn't need one. He can borrow my any time he needs it.

As far as virtual moogs go, the Creamware and Moog Modular seem to be the best. Never cared much for the Model E.

First though, buy Atmosphere. It puts everything else into perspective.

Thanks for the offer on the Voyager... I really appreciate it (but do I really have to wear a cape when I use it :) ).

I've also been thinking about asking for a tour of Atmosphere. I'll give you a call over the weekend and figure out when we can get together.

DX(i) is an extension of Windows DirectX that allows for plug in instruments. It first appeared in Cakewalk Sonar 1.0. Previously DX plugins were available as effects, but not instruments (that's what the "i" stands for).

VST(i) I know less about (as I'm a Cakewalk Sonar guy), but is a standard pioneered by Steinberg and is available on both Mac and Windows platforms. It's more widely accepted than DX(i).

FXpansion has a number of converters that allow you to use VST's on DX systems and vice-versa.

MOTU, Logic and Pro Tools have their own (proprietary) plug in standards as well.
