Pat Azzarello
Looking for recommendations and opinions for a Mini vsynth to use within my DAW (Sonar). Can be DXi or VST. I'll use it mostly for solos. Pat http://www.patazzarello.com
Magpel
Well, the Arturia one is all the rage, isn't it? It isn't cheap. I tried the demo. I hear that the Pulsar emulations are great, but that's PCI card, right? Come on, Pat, spring for a Voyager Check out the Sweet Clementines CD at bandcamp

burningbusch
He doesn't need one. He can borrow my any time he needs it. As far as virtual moogs go, the Creamware and Moog Modular seem to be the best. Never cared much for the Model E. First though, buy Atmosphere. It puts everything else into perspective. Busch. I've also been thinking about asking for a tour of Atmosphere. I'll give you a call over the weekend and figure out when we can get together. All I know is a VSTi is a plugin correct?DX(i) is an extension of Windows DirectX that allows for plug in instruments. It first appeared in Cakewalk Sonar 1.0. Previously DX plugins were available as effects, but not instruments (that's what the "i" stands for). VST(i) I know less about (as I'm a Cakewalk Sonar guy), but is a standard pioneered by Steinberg and is available on both Mac and Windows platforms. It's more widely accepted than DX(i). FXpansion has a number of converters that allow you to use VST's on DX systems and vice-versa. MOTU, Logic and Pro Tools have their own (proprietary) plug in standards as well.
