Wah pedal on my synth

Lasse

Recommended Posts

I want to play fx. Clavinet patches whrough a wah pedal

How do I connect it? Well, the wah pedal is mono. So is the Clavinet patch. But my synth is stereo of course... Should I just turn the l/r balance all the left?

your synth will have a mono output (i haven't yet seen one wich didn't).

It is probably the left channel of your stereo out.

so you can just use the mono out to connect it to the wah wah.

That was quick!!

Thanks, but what if I need to play a piano patch in the next song, and I don´t want to play that with the wah effects and it should be in stereo

(Playing live). I really don´t want to switch cables in the middle of the gig ;)

What keyboard is it?

If it`s got aux outputs, you may be able to route the clav thru that. If not, I`m not sure.

Korg Kronos X73 / ARP Odyssey / Motif ES Rack / Roland D-05 / JP-08 / SE-05 / Jupiter Xm / Novation Mininova / NL2X / Waldorf Pulse II

American Deluxe P-Bass, Yamaha RBX760

It´s a Alesis QS7, which have AUX outputs.

Well, I would have to shut off the AUX outputs then when not playing the clav patch, and shut off the Main outputs when playing the clav patch. I might be able to do that.

but.... Any other suggestions?

The real question is what WAH is it.

I have a VOX wah, and it clicks to the off position at the top of its sweep.

Oh, just reread your delema. Does your line mixer have AUX sends? You could route your WAH to that (mono or stereo) right?

Yes! That must be the way to do it -Thank you, everybody. This really is an alive forum!

By the way.. Is it someway possible to "do the funky wah wah in stereo". For instance for Rhodes patches or something. Not with a mono wah pedal like mine, but in some other way?

How about 2 wah wah pedals, one for each channel, then you can get both of your feet going? :)

Actually, I think there are some stereo wah wah pedals out there with a double input. I forget who makes them but I still think the double wah wah would be fun in a crazy kind of way.

cheers.

Related question...

The main right channel output on my QS7 broke. I was going to get it repaired, but if I can simply reroute the right channel to an AUX, or reroute both channels to the AUX channels, then I won't bother.

Is there a way to do this globally?

(I would go grab the manual and look myself, but I'm in the office. :) )

I use a Pod XT. It has a mono input, but stereo output.

You will need a mixer, but given that you can create a patch that will output to the aux output(s) (presumably just one of them - not sure about that part) So you will only use those outs on that patch.

Let me know if you need help. I have a QS8 and have been thinking about adding a wah to my own rig.
