Superbobus
I see a blue cube with a question mark instead of my avatar. This happens in Safari. IE for Mac displays the red circle with a white cross... I don't think it was that great of an avatar but now I want to remove it. My profile>avatars>no avatar and... it doesn't work! WTF? http://www.bobwijnen.nl Hipness is not a state of mind, it's a fact of life.

dementia13
I'm not sure what the problem is, Super, but your avatar is displaying fine on this Safari. Is it just not displaying your avatar to you?

zeronyne
It seems like the Avatar Image folder is inaccessible at the moment...the only avatars that I am seeing are customs ones on other servers. "For instance" is not proof.
Dave The Rave
Originally posted by Phait: (snip)but uh, if anyone wants a custom avatar, I'll do it cause I'm bored and love makin graphics(snip) Hey Phait - do ya want to have a go at designing me a new company logo for my (currently closed) little sideline business called "Red Hot Radio"? (just for fun really - never made any serious money on it). Check out my current effort at http://www.redhotradio.com and let me know what you think. Sometime ago, I held a logo "contest" in the ham radio community, but all the entries were waaaay too complex. I want something that a) has a nice clean background color so it'll look good on the website as well as on shirts (so, blue...) and b) isn't too complex to do as an embroidered logo on shirts/hats etc. My current logo uses the idea of two tuning knobs for the letter "O"s, but the background color is no good for a website really.... Any ideas? BTW, I have no money or anything for this, but if I use the fruits of any of your efforts, I'll send ya some T-shirts/polo shirt/jacket/hat - whatever I get made. Phait
Tell you what: I'll do a full website redesign and logo redesign for a link to my site on yours, and if you feel you want to pay sometime down the road, up to you. I could use more portfolio work other than my own redesigns. O_O Eh? Superbobus I'm not seeing your av either - whaddya want?

Jim Quinn
I do see the problem. If you use one of the standard Avatar images, they don't show up here right now. Users with image links outside of the forum seem to be working fine. Can someone tell me when this problem started?
Phait
And I still can't change my avatar Superbobus: score me a Powerbook for less $!!! Nah, nothing.. it's little work no biggy. And what size you want this? BTW - Are higher ranked members allowed bigger avatars? I've noticed that and mine can't seem to go above 64x64 - the max I'd ever want my av anyway is 100x100. RE: server. I'm no webmaster, but typically Linux is more stable than Windows especially on servers - why the switch?
Jim Quinn
Long story short, all of our websites have been migrated to Windows. We have many requirements that take advantage of the .NET framework. It didn't make sense to purchase a new Linux server just for the Forums. We do have a long term strategy for the forums and this is the first step to future enhancements. I am trying to figure out what happened to Avatars, do you know when this problem started?

Pat Azzarello
OK, so I updated my Avatar (pic of me in 1982 in front of my keyboards) but my old one (propellerhead) is still the only one I see...
