I had it for a week and brought it back to the store to exchange it for an m-audio quattro.

I don't know what you want to do with the sound card, but the minimal latency of it is 40ms which means that it can't be used for playing soft synths.

But if you just want to listen to mp3's and play games on the pc it's a good card.

Hi,

I have an Extigy and I really love it, actually. It has SPDIF and I go digitally in and out through my Yamaha 01V mixer to the Extigy. I don't use it for tracking or soft-synths, so I don't have issues with latency. Usually I use it for mastering, going digitally into the Extigy from either the 01V or directly from Pro Tools on my Mac.

I've also tried the surround 5.1 stuff, which does work but I always seem to have to do alot of fussing around to get it to work. I'm not sure this has to do with the Extigy as much as it does with the way I have to patch everything to feed my surround system.

Overall tho, I really love it - the USB connection is sweet, that makes it a breeze to set up and use. I'm also running it in conjunction with an internal card that came with my computer, and it doesn't seem to have any conflicts or problems, so that's good too.
