hangee_77
I use midisport 4x4 as an interface for my Cubase SX midi. The problem is everytime I record midi, the recorded midi notes are always missplaced. Is it something wrong with my midisport interface or the Cubase needs some setting adjustment? Thanks. mildbill
misplaced in time? hard to say from what you've said, but i'd try disconnecting everything except for your input keyboard and try again.how far off is the data?
hangee_77
Yes in time, they are off by more than 1/8 note. Hanjaya C.
Reason
It sounds like the notes are quantized as you play, do you have something like auto quantize on ??You could either try setting it off, or using a different setting for quantizing.
hangee_77
No, the aq was off.I suspect there is something wrong with my midisport 4x4, because I just moved the OS from win2K to winXP. It had problem once, it wouldn't recognize some of my sound modules. After I downloaded the beta driver, it is normal again, but I have noticed this problem right now. Hanjaya C. mattzen
You are probably using an [Emulated] port for your MIDI input. You need to use a 'regular' version of the port. One that doesn't say [Emulated] after it. If you don't see non-Emulated ports in your list, go to the Devices menu, then choose device setup. Click on Windows MIDI. Do you see non-Emulated ports there? If not, quit Cubase, go into the Cubase SX folder and create an empty text file (using any text program) with the filename of: ignoreportfilter Put this file in the CubaseSX folder. When you re-launch Cubase, you should have all of your Windows MIDI ports. Good Luck!!
hangee_77
Yes, I think this is the right answer! I saw something [Emulated] in the midi settings.Let me check that out! Thanks a lot. Hanjaya C.
hangee_77
How do you change the [Emulated] midi ports into the regular one? All my midi devices are emulated in the cubase sx midi device manager.Thanks. Hanjaya C.
hangee_77
I have just created an empty text format with the filename ignoreportfilter and put that inside Cubase SX folder. I re-opened Cubase and the ports are still emulated. Hanjaya C.
