I don't know...I'm sure there are some. Mr. King's probably the most famous. Meanwhile...my favorite guitporn site is: www.edromanguitars.com I don't know how many black 355s they have, but, there are some guitars there sure to give you a tiger maple woody. :D :D :D

Here's some guitar porn for you: (not my guitars :( ) MMmmmmmmmmmm... Gibson ES-355. As far as players who play this model... Well, I do believe our very own Henry Robinett plays one of these lovely ladies, if I'm not mistaken. And judging by the wear marks on the back of the neck, I'd say Henry has been playing his ES-355 for quite a few years! Nice guitar. Sound great, too.

thanks again. its such a beautiful guitar, im smitten id like one sort of inbetween a 335 and 355, ie nickel hardware (the looks kinda tacky i think, bit too 'bling bling'), 355 custom headstock and fat block inlays, varitone, mono output, white binding instead of cream (no binding in the f-holes) and a big old bigsby so i can have more tuning headaches than i get with my US strat :freak: i shall just have to keep myself amused with my 57 goldtop reissue until i save up the 3000 odd quid...

And generally, it's been my experience that most music stores will not barter in seafood, no matter how tasty they are with marinara sauce. Good luck anyway.
I really don't know what to put here.

OK all you 335-345-355, fans... My big recommendation , is the 347. To me, it was the highest level of 3_ _ evolution. It has a ebony fretboard and hardware like a a 355. the only drag is that there's no varitone, but you can put one in yourself. The big refinements for me are... 1) the coil tap- allows you humbucker or single coil tones at the flip of a switch. The best thing about the 355 is that it sounds so damn fat! But sometimes that can be a drag if you have to cover a wide range of material. The coil tap gives you instant funk/strat/tele tones, which can be a great help. 2) the bridge- the bridge design on the 347 is the best damn bridge design that Gibson ever made!!! The saddles are round little wheel looking things that keep the strings from breaking easy and catching, like they do on regular "triangle wedge" style gibson bridges. It is absolutelty the best bridge to use with any kind of bigsby or vibrola style tremolo. Also, the whole thing is totally heavy duty and WILL NOT rock back and forth like a regular Gibson bridge. 3) The tail piece- the tail piece has fine tuning adjustment screws. This has been a real time saver when trying +/- 1 cent adjustments.

:freak: i dont like the split parallelagram inlays on the 345 (whine whine whine) but i suppose i could get the beefy bridge fitted to my future :thu: 355... also, the es-355 usually comes with gold keystone tuners what are the big, flat ones called?!? i thought it would be pretty sweet to get the custom shop to do a special es-355 with my specs (as above (body profile etc as 1959 335 reissue) and a matching J150, ie a black super jumbo with a custom headstock, fat inlays etc. its a nice dream...

oops, i just looked at some pics of the 347 and i see that has nice fat blocks :D ...my guitar rack would be... my goldtop 57, a 52 reissue tele (because jeff buckley used one and theyre the mutts nuts), a rick 360/12, my special spec 355... theyre others (a mustang, a cherry 335 and so on) but those would cover pretty much the top of list... ...through a vintage echoplex tape delay, all my looping fx and stuff and then into 60's ac30 (mega drool)...

Not too sure if it's got an equivalent to the US dollar, but sho nuff, it's a money over there. So get up offa yo behind and experience the world some.
