Way back... when I got my first 'blackface' ADAT to interface with a 386 computer and figured out digital audio edits/copy/paste. I thought that was the coolest thing since the creation. I actually couldn't sleep that night with all the audio possibilities going through my head. We all take that stuff for granted now, but back then it was magical. Matt
In two days, it won't matter.

I used to think I was Libertarian. Until I saw their platform; now I know I'm no more Libertarian than I am RepubliCrat or neoCON or Liberal or Socialist.

This ain't no track meet; this is football.

.. 2 things I want to try... everything made by avalon. and the massenberg mastering eq. a SSL mixer would be nice to try once too. .. that and I would like to find out what the SINGLE most expensive mic in the world is , and us it to record a burp...(don't ask) ... I am sure that there are some mics that nasa uses , that are in the 20000$ + range, or something.

I would NEVER NEVER NEVER sell my 65 fender super reverb. For me, it's the ultimate guitar amp. I also have a poor 68 telecaster that some guy routed out to put an Ibanez humbucker in tthe middle position. Replaced it with an old zebra stripe humbucker. It's absolutely my most versatile guitar. If anybody contemplated putting a humbucher in a tele, I highly recommend the middle position, as the neck position can be muddy.

I owned a 1949 bastardized Tele/No Caster that belonged to my grandfather. Over the years I had tons of people say 'ohh..sell it...yada yada yada...." and I never did. When I eventually had a heavy weight broker based out of Overland Park, KS graciously take a peek, he determined most of that many of the parts were ripped off when it was put in the shop (orig pick guard and pickups) and the entire guitar was re-stained. He verified the year based on the serial, but said it was worth about $800, which was a relief to me, cause my wife was constantly on the prowl for me to peddle it to buy some useless piece of BS for the house.....So, I kept it, until I moved back to Michigan, and re-established contact with my cousin (my grandfathers other grandson) who is a MONSTER guitar player. So, I realized that the reason I had NEVER sold it was because it was supposed to go to him, and all along, the spirit of grandpa or whatever had kept it with me because it was destined to go to Bill. And, over the holidays a few years ago, I gave it to him. It was a wonderful feeling. That guitar was the coolest piece of gear I ever owned, and now it is owned by the person who SHOULD have owned it all along. Funny how family BS- (falling out between his mother and my grandad) is overcome by universal soul-goo......

If you got that evaluation in the early nineties, then I can say that perhaps the guy was being honest in his price evaluation- but the scene has changed a hell of a lot between now and then. BTW, it's not THAT hard to get original pickups for a decent price if you look around. Most of the guitars that I bought for $600-$800 bucks in the eighties and nineties, that were just "used" guitars, are now considered VERY classic. And all of the distressed guitars have done a lot to make old nicked up guitars from the 50's to 70's sell for higher prices. For example, I bought a 68 Les Paul deluxe for 600 bucks, and I had a guy offer me 2500 just the other day.
