AudioMaverick Posted November 24, 2002 Posted November 24, 2002 Too subjective... Which is the best/wost calculator, car/truck, clothing size? There are too many factors in your poll to consider... -- Computer used -- Audio Interface -- Preamps -- Amplifiers -- Speakers -- Software -- Room/Environment "It's all about the... um-m-m, uh-h-h..."
EXAGON Posted November 24, 2002 Author Posted November 24, 2002 AudioMaverick I don't agree with you. IMHO the mixing algorithm is 80% of the sonic quality Features Are Not An Opinion. Bunny Knutson Posted November 24, 2002 Posted November 24, 2002 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! You didn't include Cakewalk/SONAR in the choices!!! I can't vote. https://bunny.bandcamp.com/ https://theystolemycrayon.bandcamp.com/
Brakka Posted November 25, 2002 Posted November 25, 2002 Hmmm... I've only used PT and Cubase, but I'm not sure If they're the best sounding. They both sound good to me. A question like that might work better without a poll. Then people mention what they use, and a few people post who know a lot about digital audio and can compare & contrast (Craig & others :thu: ). There have been some decent threads here like that, try a search.

Gulliver Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 No CEP mentioned. I refuse to vote. I feel bad. My 02 cents. :freak: I am back.
where02190 Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 The sound quality fo any DAW is a direct result of the coality fo the converters. Since many DAWs can use a variety of converters, the question is moot. Hope this is helpful. NP Recording Studios Analog approach to digital recording.
vintagevibe Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 What AudioMaverick said. The "mixing algorithm" of a DAW is a very small part of a large equation.
miroslav Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 AND... ...what if you don't use the DAW to do any mixing at all...just slice-n-dice editing...then back out to an analog desk for some "real" mixing... :p Then the "algorithm" theory is meaningless... miroslav - miroslavmusic.com "Just because it happened to you, it doesn't mean it's important."
