Rikia Posted November 6, 2002 Posted November 6, 2002 I went to Samash.com. The VP-9000 has become a closed out idem.. Their samplers still don't support 24bit. I guess something is coming out..Any info? Thanks! Rikia...
RABid Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 The VP-9000 never went over as well in the US as it did in Europe. Even at the cut rate it does not rise my usually uncontrollable gear lust. With the current hard ware sampler slump I cannot see Roland developing a new model. I may be wrong, and I hardly use the sample playback feature of my XV-5080. Software samplers are too good now. I did hear from Dave K on the KVR board that Emu is working on the E5 hardware sampler, which will work with Emu software sampler that is in the works. Robert This post edited for speling. aliengroover Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 Roland made arguably the best samplers of the last 15 years, bar none. I adored their samplers, so that makes the question all that more perplexing. Why'd they stop? I don't count the crap they've introduced as "real" samplers (SP808, VP). The closest they're getting is the MC909, but it's not even in the same country. Maybe the market is shrinking, but I'm still in that market. Just give me my rackmount, and nobody'll get hurt.Peace If at first you don't succeed, keep on sucking 'til you do suck seed!
