Chamelmusic Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 Hi, I am currently trying to find someone who can kindly tell me how to install the drivers for Windows Xp for the Midiman 49 Keystation Keyboard using usb to connect it to my computer. I have gone to www.midiman.com and found the drivers, but It would help and greatly be appreciated if someone could tell me how to install the drivers and connect my keyboard by usb connection. I am asking for help because before, I tried to download the XP drivers from www.midiman.com for the 49 keystation Midiman, and it crashed my computer and I lost everything and had to do a fresh or clean install of Windows Xp. If you can and are willing to talk me through it. Please email me at daneworder@aol.com thanks and peace
JimmieWannaB Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 I had similar problems with the Midiman 2x2 the first time I installed it with XP. First tip - don't reformat and reinstall XP. Instead, before starting, create a System Restore Point with found under Programs/Accessories/System Restore. Then, if you have a problem, you can back up. (I wish I had done this when I had my first big XP problem. I lost everything I had moved off my old PC - years of work including most of my Keyboard mag midi archives.) I found that the Windows 98 drivers worked fine. XP will tell you that they're not XP-ready but gives you the option of installing them anyway. I don't guarantee that this will work with their keyboard but it did take care of my USB-Midi controller. Again, create the restore point first so, if I'm wrong, you can easily get back to where you were.
