Frunobulax Posted October 26, 2002 Posted October 26, 2002 Hi all, There's a keyboard pad at the beginning of Jann Arden's 1997 recording of "insensitive". It's quite unremarkable - a synthy string sort of sound - and yet I can't seem to duplicate it. Anybody know what it was? Thanks!Dave
Pim Posted October 27, 2002 Posted October 27, 2002 I don't hear nothing special in this patch...Tmho this patch can come from any modern sampleplayer-synth. My Music I always wondered what happened after the fade out?
SoundMeister Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 Part of the problem with trying to replicate a sound you've heard is that it appears in context -- the other sounds around it affect the way you hear it. When you're trying to generate the sound in isolation, it's not going to be the same. Also, consider the possibility that the sound in context was probably subjected to some post-production processing (e.g., effects, equalization, compression) by virtue of which what you hear on the recording is several steps removed from the sound being generated from a synth. Matters are further complicated by the fact that every keyboard instrument has its own personality. ~Peter SchoutenPyramid Sound ProductionsSpecialty Soundware for Samplers-^^--^^--^^--^^--^^--^^--SCSI Expansions http://www.pyramid-sound.com http://www.pyramid-sound.com
