nc Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 Johnny Johnson's suit against Chuck Berry for denied royalties has been dismissed by US District Court in St. Louis. Johnson sued Berry in 2000, claiming that for years he didn't realize he could've been earning money for his alledged contributions to Berry's hits from c.1955~66. The usually allowed period for seeking redress in copyright royalties is 3 years & the court ruled that Johnson had simply waited too long to file action. Berry stated that he bears his one-time partner no animosity but does blame his advisors in this action, Bo Diddley & Keith Richards. Watch out backstage in St. Louis, Keith!
