Hi fellows!

I have a Roland vk-7 and i've noticed that the first drawbar is transposed in the lower octave,is it normal? The plug-in B4 is the same way.Is the first drawbar(16') on a real B3 transposed too?

Thank you for your clarifications....

urk10: yes, that is normal on a real B3. :freak:

The original Korg CX-3 portable organ is one "wanna-B" that doesn't do this, but instead, sounds notes down an octave further, as a person might logically expect.

Try this to see whats going on. Pull out only the 16' or the 8' or the 4' one at a time. You should see the same note,(try middle C), showing up an octave or two up or down. Ex: pull out 8' only and play middle C. Push in the 8' and pull out the 16'. Middle C is now one octave up. Kcbass

What I think you are describing is foldback, and yes it is normal with the B3, C3, RT-3 and A100 series organs. The notes that play in the next to lowest octave, with only the 16' drawbar pulled out, are the same notes as played in the lowest octave.

Here's a link that explains it in a little more detail.

Oh, forgot about foldback. I took that off my Hammond. Who wants a 37 note keyboard, not I. Kcbass
