Motu Midi Express + Cubase Help

This is a pretty long post...so please bear with me...any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

I'm new to midi equipment but I finally decided that I wanted to add some of it to my studio.

 

The setup I went with was:

 

Roland XV-5050 synth module

EMU Mo Phatt module

Roland MC-505 groove box

Midiman Keystation 49 (controller)

Motu Midi Express XT interface.

 

I have cubase VST 32/5.0 setup on my current PC, but I am having trouble getting the Motu interface to comunicate with the modules.

 

When I plug in my controller to the EMU directly and run the audio outs to my mixer, it works fine. However, with the Motu in there...nothing.

 

Any setup suggestions?

 

I currently have my controller's midi out going to the midi in #1 on the interface. Although it has a USB connection to run straight to my PC...I din't hook that up...should I?

 

The 5050, and Mo phatt are currently connected to midi out #1 and #2 on the interface...with those cables going to the midi ins on the units. I also have my audio outs going to my mixer.

 

I have the motu set to 30 fps setting...should I?
