Hi all,

I'm new to the whole sampler world.

I just got a L-CDX-04 Roalnd sample CD.

I was going to use the Reason sampler to read the data.

But, I don't understand.

The manual says "The data contained on this CD-ROM has been created in Roland's format

, which, in addition to the XV-5080.

My mac can't read the CD.

Do I have to buy a XV-5080 (or XV-2020) to use the sample CD?

Thank you.

I just reread the manual excerpt. Boy, that's classic Roland Engrish for you. I remember one manual that began with a haiku...

Google search says it is/was made by Interval Music. I couldn't find a website for them except for the puzzling site/haiku with no links:

Is it a game? I guess it's more soothing than a 404: Not Found message.

I found a Win95 program that claims to do this:

In any case, the Roland CDs are designed to be read in a CD-ROM drive connected to one of their samplers (S-700, 750, 760, 770) or synths (XP-5080). I haven't tried putting one in a Mac with OSX yet, I'll give that a try and get back to you.

Hey, I found the homepage.

This is the one what you were talking about, right? The app supports both Mac and Win.

I think this one is right for me.

I found a thread about the app one the DUC.

Check that out.

I almost dropped $1900 for a XV-5080.

Thank you very much for the posts! :)
