schmoron13 Posted September 19, 2002 Posted September 19, 2002 I love a version of Ben Kweller's "Wasted and ready" and I'd love to get a version of it, but it's only on aol sessions through Real 1 player. I was wondering if there was a way to download the audio? Also, one of my concerts from college is online (real player) and I'd love to get a version of it on disc. Does anyone know how can I can get these things on my computer? Thanks in advance
Intheether Posted September 19, 2002 Posted September 19, 2002 Sorry but you can't download a stream. You can save the icon on your desk top and click the link whenever you're on line, but a stream is just that. Isn't there an mp3 version of the song too? That you can download. *
schmoron13 Posted September 19, 2002 Author Posted September 19, 2002 thanks, but I guess I'll just have to record the tracks with some mics....boy the sound quality will be GRRRRRRRREAT
JimmieWannaB Posted September 20, 2002 Posted September 20, 2002 I used to be able to download the "ra" files for later playback but most streaming servers have blocked this option. In case the site you're playing from hasn't done this, it's worth trying a "right mouse click" and saving the file or using File Save in Real Player. Before you pull out the microphone, if you have an audio editor like Sound Forge, you might record from it. I've successfully recorded streaming audio this way. Note that Windows' default record source is CD so you may have to change it the Volume Control's Recording settings. (This assumes that you're using a PC and not a Mac.)
schmoron13 Posted September 20, 2002 Author Posted September 20, 2002 Thanks Jimmy.. I'm using a PC with an Aardvark Q10 soundcard so I'll try recording it that way and see how it turns out. Thanks for the advice
