smooveface Posted September 18, 2002 Posted September 18, 2002 Looking for a budget fully weighted controller to act as midi controller specifically for piano sounds. Do need anything fancy, just something with real piano feel. Any suggestions? TIA Digiman
Krakit Posted September 18, 2002 Posted September 18, 2002 I think the cheapest thing is the Studio Logic Fatar. I bought one once, but I returned it after about a week. Rather than get another weighted MIDI controller, I settled on a simple digital piano with an action that I really liked (Roland RD100). Korg also has a line of 88 weighted key stage pianos that aren't too hard on the wallet. Carl
Carlito Posted September 19, 2002 Posted September 19, 2002 My Fatar SL-990 is 3 years old. Cost me $500.Now you can find one for about $400.Mine works great. I use it with a Midi-solution velocity converter to give me the best velocity curve for my eastwest steinway B and Bosendorfer pianos on gigasampler LE. The whole setup minus the computer cost me about $750.soundwise,it beats anything my local music stores have .
synthetic Posted September 20, 2002 Posted September 20, 2002 Used Alesis QS8? I really like the feel of mine.
