steadyb Posted September 15, 2002 Posted September 15, 2002 I've always rooted for my home team. Rams - since the days of Roman Gabriel and Jack Snow Dodgers - always Kings - since the Forum purple and gold. USC and UCLA - football and basketball, Lynn Swan and Bill Walton Lakers Go Sparks!!! Teams that played in L.A I did not root for... Raiders - liked them the first time they were in Oakland, Daryl Lamonica, The Snake, George Blanda, Fred Belitnikof. John Madden. Had no use for them in L.A. ...Traitors Clippers - should have stayed in San Diego, I like 'em ok now. Any other "pro wrestling" type team sport like arena football, or the XFL, USFL, indoor soccer, (...why not include "6 foot and under" leagues???)
Dave Bryce Posted September 15, 2002 Author Posted September 15, 2002 Okay, lemme try this again... I'm not looking for your favorite team per sport or per era - I want your absolute #1 favorite team. Pick one. If you want to restrict yourself to one team in a particular era that's fine - but you don't have to. dB ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <== Professional Affiliations: Royer Labs • Music Player Network

sbrock1san.rr.com Posted September 15, 2002 Posted September 15, 2002 I'm a diehard K.C. Chiefs fan because I grew up going to the games and it's in my blood. I also went to Kansas Jayhawk basketball games for years, but b-ball never moved me like NFL football does.
MojoHaiku Posted September 15, 2002 Posted September 15, 2002 Grew up in D.C. going to Redskins games. No matter where I live, it'll always be the 'Skins! (who, incidentally, will be kicking some serious Eagle ass in D.C. tomorrow nite!)

Pim Posted September 15, 2002 Posted September 15, 2002 I'll be more specific: Ajax' team of '94 - '95. In this season they won everything, but that is not important. What important is, is the offensive way they played. With this team every opponent had the feeling Ajax was playing with two players extra. Most players were from Ajax' own football-university, so with a budget which was a fraction of the great European teams, they beaten every opponent. In that era the thought was born that Ajax=Art. My Music I always wondered what happened after the fade out?

And for clarification as to why I picked an era: I don't like the now St. Louis Rams (aarrgh, don't get me started). Also, I cared most for the Los Angeles Rams when my childhood sports heroes, Deacon Jones, Merlin Olsen, and Roman Gabriel, played on the team. If the Rams ever return to Los Angeles, I promise I'll have a much less long-winded answer to this question! Enthusiasm powers the world. Craig Anderton's Archiving Article
