Displaying "Your Picture" from Profile

How do you get a picture to show up below your name with postings? I've entered a complete URL with the pix I want shown into the Your Picture text box of my Profile. No go. Am I missing something? Are there size or file type limits? The pix is a 100 x 96 JPEG (.jpg) fle.

I finally prattled on enough to make Senior Member and be given the Avatar option. The pix is a watercolor of Thelonious Monk. If anyone has a decent Jimmy Smith pix (the Jimmie in JimmieWannaB) that would work as an Avatar they can share, I'd be totally stoked.

That's because you have to put the picture as an Avatar... look 3 rows down from the picture entry.

Rod - Thanks but that just puts it at the bottom of the page, not to the left after my name. I have to assume I'm still missing something.

I'm guessing you entered the URL of that image in the signature line, which is directly below the avatar image line - an easy mistake to make...

Dave - Are all the View/Update Profile pages the same? Mine doesn't give the option to enter in an Avatar image. The fields available are as follows:

 

Login Name:

Member Number:

Publicly Displayed Name:

Member Status:

Password:

Email Address:

Location:

Occupation:

Homepage:

Interests:

Your Picture:

ICQ ID:

AIM ID:

Birth Date:

Signature:

 

Since there was no Avatar option, I entered the pix URL into "Signature."
