RD Odub Posted August 27, 2002 Posted August 27, 2002 I'm working on a modest PC recording setup, and have narrowed down my interfaces to either the M Audio Quattro, or the Tascam UB244. These two seem to offer what I need, for the bucks I can spend. But, would I want a PCI interface rather than USB for recording? The Tascam does have that nice remote/desktop control thing going for it. The Quattro seems more "pro", though. And how about the packaged software? I guess the "special version" of Cubasis is tweaked to work with the 244. Does that mean another recording app wouldn't work so well? As for the Quattro, would Logic be something to be tossed aside after awhile due to non-support? Both products do feature recording + MIDI, but should I go for more I/O (Quattro), or ease of use (UB244). If anyone has any thoughts on this, I'd be happy to listen.
