schmoron13 Posted August 23, 2002 Posted August 23, 2002 Ok, so I realized that there is no real way to afford hiring an orchestra for every job I do (at quite frankly, my work hasn't reached that level...yet). In any case, gigasampler seems like a perfect solution. I have a fast computer (p4 2.2gz, 512 ddr ram, 80gb hd, etc..), an Aardvark Q10 Direct Pro that I just got last week (and I love it), and a PC88mx, with Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 and soundforge. I bought a Triton rack last weekend @GC but car problems this week have made me realize that my baby is going back (for a couple of months). SO Gigasampler seems really interesting. Now, I mainly need it for accoustic instruments, and drums (technically an accoustic instr. too but...) so I want a some great orchestral sounds and maybe piano too... Now my question is which version of Giga should I get? for orchestral scores or full fledged compositions, do I really need more than 32 midi tracks? what if I record those tracks as audio (wav)? could I get by? also, are there any comparable programs on the market (remember that the new issue of Keyboard with Moby on the cover reviewed an awesome one)... Thanks in advance
DanS Posted August 23, 2002 Posted August 23, 2002 Gigasampler 32 refers to voices, not multi-timbral midi channels. It is still 16 part multi-timbral, like Giga 64. Is 32 voices enough for you?
