CP Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 I thought of this question a few weeks back when everybody was searching for Dan. I believe he went on a little hiatus with his family. I just started wondering if one of us was injured, badly hurt or died, would anybody in our family know to alert this forum. Just a thought, because when we don't see a familar name posted in awhile, it seems alot of people get worried.
Dan South Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 Old musicians never die. They simply fade away. Maybe I'll add a paragraph to my will asking someone to post the details of my eventual demise on these boards. Then again, I'm hoping to outlive then by several decades. The Black Knight always triumphs!
steadyb Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 If you eat right, take vitamins, exercise, and otherwise take excellent care of your health, you still won't be around long enough to see the Nets win a championship.
Jeff Klopmeyer Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 If I die, I will not be giving a shit about these forums. Love y'all, but my priorities are a bit different. I suppose I could write a nice epitaph for myself now, with instructions to my loved ones to copy/paste it to the ten or so forums and newsgroups on which I'm a regular. But jeez, how damn depressing. So...uh...no. If I don't post for more than two weeks or so, just consider me dead. Dead, or having a screwed up computer. Either way. - Jeff Marketing Communications for MI/Pro Audio My solo music and stuff They Stole My Crayon
CP Posted August 21, 2002 Author Posted August 21, 2002 steadyb you sound like Hulk Hogan. And Jeff, you just gave me a good laugh.
Magpel Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 You see, this is where we are different from other forums. We have produced 2, count 'em, 2 compilation projects that grace our CD racks, so our wives, husbands and significant others have a sense of the unusually tight bond that exisits here. My wife even knows several of you by name and traits. I like to think that if I died suddenly, she would figure out how to notify y'all, and the ensuing outpouring of eloquent grief would be staggering. Check out the Sweet Clementines CD at bandcamp
Slowly Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 I`ve pondered that question from time to time, and there is no way I could really notify you guys. I`m the only real computer geek in the entire family, including relatives. So I guess if you don`t see a post from me in over a month, consider me dead or damn near dead. Kcbass "Let It Be!"
whitefang Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 Maybe that's why some people (like me!) post replies that might mean absolutely nothing to the original topic. Just to let everyone else know we are still around so they don't worry. Or to ruin their day! Whichever comes first! Whitefang I started out with NOTHING...and I still have most of it left!
RABid Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 I plan to have my ashes digitized and spread across the forums that I frequent. A fund has been set up and I have been secretly hacking around to find addresses of the frequent posters on those forums. On the day that my ashes are spread around pizza will be delivered to those people and the wake will begin. My lawyers will post a message notifying those who were mentioned in my will and which piece of equipment each of those people get. A collection of music will be sent to DB so he can choose a song for the next compilation which could be dedicated to me in loving memory.. Or maybe I will just disappear and a month or two later someone will mention that I was killed by a music store worker who went postal after I asked him to demonstrate how to make the Yamaha Motif sequencer to change patches in the middle of a song. Jeff Klopmeyer Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 I'm not making this up. The guy who invented the Frisbee recently passed away (or "crossed over", as John Edward would have you believe), and per his wishes has had his ashes formed into the shape of his famous innovation. Yep...he's now a bunch of little ashy frisbees. As to his plans for the use of said discs, I have no information (and don't want any). - Jeff Marketing Communications for MI/Pro Audio My solo music and stuff They Stole My Crayon

Yea, I really want my ashes blended with plastic and tossed around for a dog to catch and chew on. Robert This post edited for speling. My Sweetwater Gear Exchange Page
soapbox Posted August 22, 2002 Posted August 22, 2002 This seems as good a thread as any to let everyone know that I may not be posting much for the next few weeks. My work schedule and my social schedule are both filled with activities. On the work end, I'm behind schedule producing and arranging a song for a new Latin pop artist. On the social end, my parents will be staying with my wife and me for the rest of this week. Next week, I'll be playing the piano at the wedding of two of my best friends. (He's an engineer; she's a project coordinator.) On September 2nd, I'm planning to have another MusicPlayer dinner with our friend GusTraX (Gustavo Lozada), who will be traveling to LA. Then, on September 7th, I will be attending a special acting performance that my wife will be giving in Hollywood. Now that I have created threads about these last two events, I 've updated this post so that it will link to those topics. I'm still hoping that I'll be able to visit with forum members in other threads during this time as well. However, I just don't know how much free time I'll have, so I thought that I should issue this "heads up" in case anyone wonders where I am. Best, Geoff Enthusiasm powers the world. steadyb Posted August 29, 2002 Posted August 29, 2002 Well if I suddenly drop dead... I suppose Dave would probably hear about it pretty quick one way or another.
Valkyrie Sound Posted August 29, 2002 Posted August 29, 2002 Yeah.... I figure if I die Dan or Jeff will hear about it... Jeff: Don't let me be buried in that crappy cemetery in Pedro, ya hear? Thanks! Valky Valkyrie Sound: http://www.vsoundinc.com Now at TSUTAYA USA: http://www.tsutayausa.com
BP3 Posted August 29, 2002 Posted August 29, 2002 If I die before this forum does, I'll probably be remembered as the guy who thinks (knows) that Phil Collins sucks. ...wait a tick, that was Craig's forum... Sorry Dave.
Rick_Rhino Posted August 29, 2002 Posted August 29, 2002 if i die please blend my ashes in the circuits of a DAW so it can give it some soul plus some of my ashes could go inside a vintage mic so when a pain in the ass diva sings in it she will get a toke of ash straight in to her precious little lungs so what's the WIFM?
