Dead PC88MX Expansion Card

Hey all -

 

Any Kurzweil techs out there??? The OS on my PC88MX isn't recognizing the expansion card for some reason. Is there some kind of reset I can do? The expansion, GM, and 64-note poly banks are not showing up.

 

Is there a software fix (via MIDI) for this? Or do I need to ship the unit off? I have repalced the key assembly (and broken keyweights) on several occasions, so I kind of know my way around the innards of the unit.

 

Any words of wisdom???

There is a reset.. it's on the global menu. I would try that. Good luck.

Rod - already tried the hard reset...no luck.

The ribbon cable going to the board may have worked it's self loose. If you aren't afraid of cracking it open, I'd check that out. While inside, carefully make sure all ribbon cable are snug. Eventually they can work loose.

All is well - the card had worked itself patially off the mainboard...despite the steel casing and extra padding present. After plugging the card back in and firing up the board, the OS recognized the card.
